For clarification, 3D scan images refers to still images which are provided on a CD and photographs and 4D scans refers to the real time moving image of the baby. BabyFace4D DVDs and CDs will be available to take away on the day of your appointment.
The clarity and quality of your 2D, 3D & 4D images are affected by several factors: the position of the baby in the womb, the amount of amniotic fluid (water) around the baby and the amount of maternal body tissue (skin, fat & muscle) between the scanning probe and the baby.
Please note that our 2D / 3D and 4D ultrasound scans are not undertaken as foetal abnormality checks. Each scan package available includes a foetal ‘well being check’. If, however, we suspect that there may be a problem, this will be explained in as much detail as possible. With your consent, we will liaise with your GP or midwife responsible for your care and a full complete report will be sent to your health professionals.
